DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN LOS ANGELES
Arrive in Los Angeles, the “City of Angels”. Accommodations close to the airport.
DAY 2 LOS ANGELES TO PALM SPRINGS 175 miles/280 Km
Take a short drive to Palm Springs, a great place for shopping, eating, or relaxing by the pool. Take a tram ride up to Mt. Jacinto or hike through the beautiful Indian Canyons with waterfalls and palm trees.
DAY 3 PALM SPRINGS TO LAUGHLIN 190 miles/304 Km
Today you will be crossing the Mojave Desert and drive to Laughlin which is located right at the Colorado River. Besides entertainment and gambling watersports are big here, you can swim, boat, waterski or just relax on one of the many beaches.
DAY 4 LAUGHLIN TO FLAGSTAFF 220 miles/400 Km
Continue to Grand Canyon - truly one of the great moments of a trip, or of a lifetime. Drive along the rim in the free shuttle buses or walk between the different viewpoints. Then continue to Flagstaff where you will spend the night.
DAY 5 FLAGSTAFF TO LAKE POWELL 135 miles/216 Km
Today you will have the opportunity to explore Grand Canyon some more, or visit a couple of less visited parks - Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monuments. At Lake Powell, one of the major attractions is a boat tour out to the Rainbow Bridge, the tallest natural bridge in the world.
DAY 6 LAKE POWELL TO ST. GEORGE 160 miles/ 256 Km
Continue to Zion Canyon where desert terrain and huge, sculpted rock formations coexist with waterfalls and hanging gardens. Enjoy the Zion Canyon, a spectacular gorge carved through strangely colored sandstone by the Virgin River. Then continue to St. George where you will spend the night.
DAY 7 ST. GEORGE TO LAS VEGAS 110 miles/ 176 Km
Leave the red mountains of Utah behind for the drive to Las Vegas. Las Vegas has become the entertainment capital of the country, with casino gambling, fabulous shows, a great night-life scene, and world-class restaurants, housed in the themed mega-resorts on “the Strip,” offering Las Vegas’ take on ancient Egypt, Paris, New York, Venice and much more.
DAY 8 LAS VEGAS TO VISALIA 460 miles/ 736 Km
This day will be full of contrasts.You will leave the gamblers paradise behind you and cross once more the Mojave Desert to Visalia at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. In the evening enjoy the pleasant historic district of this small town.
DAY 9 VISALIA TO MODESTO 246 miles/ 394 Km
Today you have the possibility to visit two of the most beautiful National Parks in California. You can either explore the magic of Sequoia National Park where the landscape is studded with the largest of trees, the giant sequoias. Many of them are more than 70 meters high. Or visit Yosemite, a region of unusual beauty. Then continue to Modesto.
DAY 10 MODESTO TO SAN FRANCISCO 95 miles/ 152 Km
Continue on to San Francisco, where you will spend two nights. Plenty of time to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in America.
DAY 11 SAN FRANCISCO
Explore Fisherman’s Wharf, take a boat trip to the prison island of Alcatraz or stroll through the busy Chinatown.
DAY 12 SAN FRANCISCO TO SANTA MARIA 300 miles/480 Km
Drive along the rugged Pacific Coast. On the way lots of sightseeing or hiking in several state parks. Visit the excellent Aquarium in Monterey, take the 17 Mile Drive with its wild headlands and beautiful mansions and stop at the enormous Hearst Castle.
DAY 13 SANTA MARIA TO OXNARD 100 miles/ 160 Km
On the way to Oxnard, visit the Danish village of Solvang and stop in Santa Barbara which offers a delightful historic Spanish-colonial architecture, lots of shopping, many restaurants and an inviting beach.
DAY 14 OXNARD TO LOS ANGELES 66 miles/ 106 Km
Drive back to Los Angeles where a memorable trip comes to an end.
