DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN LOS ANGELES

Arrive in Los Angeles, the “City of Angels”. Accommodations close to Hollywood.

DAY 2 LOS ANGELES TO PALM SPRINGS 175 miles/280 Km

Take a short drive to Palm Springs, a great place for shopping, eating, or relaxing by the pool. Take a tram ride up to Mt. Jacinto or hike through the beautiful Indian Canyons with waterfalls and palm trees.

DAY 3 PALM SPRINGS TO PHOENIX 330 miles/530 Km

On the way to Phoenix, visit Joshua Tree National Park. Enjoy a large selection of art galleries, restaurants and shopping opportunities in Scottsdale.

DAY 4 PHOENIX TO GRAND CANYON 250 miles/400 Km

Continue to Grand Canyon - truly one of the great moments of a trip, or of a lifetime. Drive along the rim in the free shuttle buses or walk between the different viewpoints.

DAY 5 GRAND CANYON TO LAKE POWELL 140 miles/224 Km

The short drive to Lake Powell gives you the opportunity to explore Grand Canyon some more. As you leave the canyon through the east entrance you will have some more spectacular views of the Colorado River down below.

DAY 6 LAKE POWELL

Spend the day at Lake Powell. One of the major attractions is a boat tour out to the Rainbow Bridge, the tallest natural bridge in the world.

DAY 7 LAKE POWELL TO BRYCE CANYON 150 miles/240 Km

Continue to Bryce Canyon where you can drive to different overlooks, walk along the rim or take one of the loop trails through the colorful rock formations.

DAY 8 BRYCE CANYON TO LAS VEGAS 245 miles/395 Km

Travel through Zion National Park to Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World.

DAY 9 LAS VEGAS/DEATH VALLEY/BAKERSFIELD 380 miles/610 Km

Leave the gambler’s paradise behind and drive through Death Valley, a place of unexpected contrasts. See large sand dune formations, sculpted rocks, isolated valleys and volcanic craters. Then continue around the foothills of the Sierra Nevada to Bakersfield near the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley, a large agricultural area.

DAY 10 BAKERSFIELD TO YOSEMITE 200 miles/320 Km

Today you will be driving to Yosemite National Park, a region of unusual beauty. See the famous Yosemite Falls, the highest in North America, drive up to Glacier Point for a spectacular view of the mountains and the valley below and admire the big sequoia trees at Mariposa Grove.

DAY 11 YOSEMITE TO SAN FRANCISCO 200 miles/320 Km

Continue on to San Francisco, where you will spend two nights. Plenty of time to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in America.

DAY 12 SAN FRANCISCO

Explore Fisherman’s Wharf, take a boat trip to the prison island of Alcatraz and stroll through the busy Chinatown.

DAY 13 SAN FRANCISCO TO SANTA MARIA 300 miles/480 Km

Drive along the rugged Pacific Coast. On the way lots of sightseeing or hiking in several state parks. Visit the excellent Aquarium in Monterey, take the 17 Mile Drive with its wild headlands and beautiful mansions and stop at the enormous Hearst Castle.

DAY 14 SANTA MARIA TO LOS ANGELES AREA 210 miles/336 Km

On the way back to Los Angeles where a memorable trip comes to an end, visit the Danish village of Solvang and stop in Santa Barbara which offers delightful historic Spanish-colonial architecture, lots of shopping, restaurants and an inviting beach.
